Kids Can Event Featured in the Miami Herald

Kids Can were featured in the Miami Herald’s Mom’s Miami section of the newspaper as well as on the MomsMiami.com website this weekend. The article talked about the upcoming Kids Can fundraiser on December 8th to help homeless families this holiday season. Participants will create Houses for Change, house-shaped collection boxes for coins to be donated to two nonprofits organizations that help homeless families.

Scholarships Donations Delivered

This past week was a very important milestone for Kids Can. The first two scholarship donations, funds which were raised from our Young At Art Gala, were presented this week.

Logan Bratter delivered the first one – a $1,000.00 scholarship to the University School’s Epstein Center for the Arts. This Kids Can donation will be used for music lessons for two students who otherwise could not have afforded to take lessons.

Miles Mittentag delievered the second one which was a $1,025.00 donation to Kids In Distress (KID) which will be used to support their amazing organization.

Time to Color for Thanksgivukah

Calling all super coloring heroes – We need your help!

The Families with Young Children Division of the Jewish Federation of Broward is hosting its Annual Women’s Philanthropy Chanukah Party at the Daniel Cantor Senior Center. We want to add our special Kids Can touch to the gifts that will be given out at the party, but we need YOUR help! We need 100 Chanukah coloring pages by Thanksgivukah! It’s easy, just print one of the pages below and color away (the file contains 4 different pages to choose from). Once you’re done, please mail them to:

Kids Can and Houses for Change Event

Kids Can and Houses for Change are pleased to announce a very exciting event!!!

Please join us on Sunday December 8th at the Posnak JCC in Davie from 3:00pm – 5:00pm for a special project (address is listed below)!

Families and children of all ages are invited to help us build and decorate little houses. Learn how you and your family can help Kids Can and Houses for Change raise money for children without homes of their own.

We will provide all of the ingredients for an exciting crafting activity, we just need you!

Ready To Make More Lunches?

Once again, we’ve challenged ourselves to make 150 individual lunches for the Jubilee Center of Hollywood and we know that Kids CAN do it!!

Kids Can are holding our 2nd challenge on September 22, 2013 at 4:00pm. Howie and Rebeca Fleischer have once again offered their restaurant, Howie’s Top Dog as the location! Please help us make lunches for our local soup kitchen. Space is limited to 25 kids so please RSVP as soon as possible! The lunches we’ll be making will be: PB&J sandwiches, individual chip bags and a juice box that will all be placed into individual lunch bags. Remember – all children must be accompanied by an adult!

To make this event a success, please plan to bring some key ingredients with you on the 22nd! We will need loaves of bread, peanut butter, jelly, small bags of chips, juice boxes and brown lunch bags.

Want us to shop for you? To make it even easier, feel free to make a donation to Kids Can through PayPal or request an invoice from us and we will shop for you!
